Vilcabamba to Machupicchu (5D / 4N)

INCA TRAIL TO MACHUPICCHU NEW OPTION

Vilcabamba is called the older and the last City of the Inkas, located in La Convencion Valley in the department of Cusco near to the jungle, this place is rich in culture and nature, we will see the Inka remains like Ñusta Hispana and Rosaspata where developed the last war between inkas and conquerors, the trail is not frecuented by many tourists, you can enjoy this trip develop in 5 days.. it is really an Inca trail used for the peruvian people since Centuries till our days.We we`ll see the impresive mountains like Sacsarayoc, Choquetarpo and Pumasillo.

ITINERARY

The itinerary is as follows:

DAY 1: Cusco - Huancacalle

The trip begins early in the morning, we have to go to La Convencion valley to Huancacalle. It's neccesary 8 hours driving from Cusco, in the way we'll cross the highest pass called Puerto Malaga (4600 m) near to the Mount Veronica, after that we'll descend to the Vilcanota - Lucumayo valley and continue to Chaullay (1180m). Since there we'll continue in the Vicabamba valley arriving to Huancacalle on 3180m where we'll spend our first night. ( L.D).

DAY 2: Huancacalle - Incahuasi - Qoyllorcocha

The trek begins early in the morning. After two hours walking we'll visit Ñustahispana and Rosaspata, there are important inka buildings that were destroyed by conquerors after a hard war. In this place we can see the impresive stones with rarely shapes. Following the trek we'll arrive to Qoyllorcocha where we'll have our camping after six hours walking ( B.L.D).

DAY 3: Qoyllorcocha - Asnococha pass ( 4350m) - Yanatile

Following the trek we'll cross the pass called Asnacocha, from there we'll see the Sacsarayoc and Choquetarpo two impresive and nice mountains continue walking down to Yanatile in the Sacsara valley. This valley is covered by typical forest of lowe valley where we can find oranges, bananas, and many tropical fruits. Five hours we'll spend today walking to our camp site in Yanatile.( B.L.D)

DAY 4: Yanatile (2200m) - Aguas Calientes

Our last day in the trekking starts early in the morning. we have to go to Santa Teresa and continue to Machupicchu Hidroelectric six hours walking . We have to arrive before at four in the afternoon because we have to take the local train to Aguas Calientes where we'll install in a hotel.( B.L.D)

DAY 5: Machupicchu Sanctuary full day

After a fresh bath in Aguas Calientes hot springs you will have a beautiful day visiting Machupicchu, in the afternoon we'll take the train to return to Cusco.
