Sibinacocha - Ausangate Trek (6D / 5N)

One of the more nice trekking in the Ausangate mountain range. The trek develops over 6 days, has a combination of beautiful landscapes, lagoons, glaciers, and typical fauna of this altitude. During this journey, you will find the snow-capped peaks of Yayamari (6040m) , Ccasccara , Hapu punta, Alcachayoc and many more. Close to the Sibinacocha Lagoon the highest lagoon of Cusco locate above 4900 m. You can enjoy the beautiful lagoons , after pass our maximum pass named “ paso Condor “ we will arrive to the another nice valley since you will see the mountains like Ausangate, Campa, Pico tres, Pucapunta and many more mountains over 6000m above sea level, are seldom frequented by climbers. This trekking is developed over the 4000 meter mark during the entire journey with its maximum pass at 5080 meters in tthe Campa Pass.

ITINERARY

The itinerary is as follows:

DAY 1: Cusco - Phinaya

The trip begins at 7.a.m. We pick you up in your hotel. In the way we'll arrive to Racchi that is the Temple of Wiracocha the Inka's god, after a short visit we will continue to Sicuani and then to Santa Barbara, a small and ancient town where we'll see typical stone houses and a beautiful river called Salka that came from Sibinacocha lagoon the bigest one in the Vilcanota area, the capacity of reserve is of this dam is 100 millons of cubic meters the water supplies to Machupicchu Hidroelectric in the dry season by the Vicanota river. In the way yo will enjoy the spectacular landscapes Lagoons and snow mountain range. finally we will arrive to Phinaya. this is a small and quiet town on 4950m. where we take a camping. ( 8 hours drive ) Altitude: 3300m – 4950m. (L.D)

DAY 2: Phinaya ( 4800m)- Ccasccara Lagoon ( 5200m)

Today we'll walking 4 hours to Ccasccara lagoon it is a big and fantastic lagoon with differents species of birds, ducks, trucha, huallatas and many other species of fauna are in the area, we will see also the beautiful group of snow mountains such us Yayamary, Japupunta, Ccascara, Alcachayoc. our campsite is locate near of the farmers houses.Altitude: 4950m - 5200m (Slope:moderate ).(B.L.D)

DAY 3. Ccascara- Lagoon - Sibinacocha lagoon ( 4900m)( 6 hours walking)

Following the trekking we will walk six hours to Sibinacocha lagoon, we will walk in the border of this beautiful and big lagoon we will see many species of ducks, birds, vizcachas, huallatas, close to the end of this border will appear the impresive mountain called Jatunritty ( means in the quechua languaje the biggest mountain), also we'll see another impresive mountain called Colque Cruz, we will have our campsite there. Altitude: 5200m – 4950m (B.L.D)

DAY 4: Sibinacocha lagoon - Huchuy finaya (4400m) - (6 hours walking)

Following the trekking we will walk six hours to the other valley of the famose trek around of the Ausangate, today we will walk up to the condor pass 5100m) we will see the beautiful mountains like Ausangate, Mariposa, Pico tres, Pucapuntas and many more. we will walking down in a nice valley called Killita and will arrive to Huchuy Finaya the small town.b (B.L.D)

DAY 5: Finaya - Jampa Pass - Ninaparayoc ( 4600m) (7 hours walking )

We begin early in the morning because we will have a long day. In the valley we will see the impresive mountains called Pico Tres and Pucapunta, our highest pass on the 5000 m. called Jampa pass. After we .continue to the Pacchanta valley, we will see the Comercocha and Ninaparayoc lake we will camping on the border of the Ninaoparayoc lake. (B.L.D)

DAY 6: Ninaparayoc - Pacchanta(4500m) - Tinky - Cusco (6 hours walking )

Our last day begin early in the morning, we continue in the Pacchanta valley arriving in 4 hours approximately there we will have a Typicall food named Pachamanca, vegetables and Alpaca meat are cooked in a stone oven..also you should take a bath in a nature pool of thermal water..After lunch we will walk two more hours until arrive to Tinky where our car will be waiting for us.(B.L)
