Salkantay Trek (4D / 3N)The Mount Salkantay (6372m), whose name implies “savage”, was a Sacred Inca Mountain. As you approach this impressive mountain, you will realize the amazing trek that follows. The trek begins in the small, quaint town of Mollepata, located in the valley of the Apurimac River (90 km from Cusco). On the second day , we will arrive at the Rio Blanco valley, where we will see the imposing peaks of Umantay and Salkantay. The following day after crossing the domineering Incachiriaska pass, you will arrive at Sisaypampa, the base of the mountain from where we will begin the ascent to the Palkay pass. After this pass, it is a quick descent, passing the expansive Inca water channels, to arrive at Huayllabamba. This small town, where we will spend the evening, is located on the traditional Inca trail to Machupicchu. The last day we will continue towards Chillca, in the valley of the Vilcanota river, and return to Cusco. Alternatively, you can continue on the Inka trail. Inquire for more details. ITINERARYThe itinerary is as follows: DAY 1 Cusco- Mollepata ( 2985m)- Soraypampa(4200m)Early in the morning the bus pick you up in your hostal and after drive 3 hours we'll arrive to Mollepata, a small and peacefull village, there we will begin the trek. In the second hour of the trek we will see the impresive mountain called Humantay; the trail is in the border of a water chanell and tipycal forest. we will spend our first nigth in Soraypampa below the magnific Mounts of Salkantay and Humantay.(L.D.) DAY 2: Soraypampa - Incachiriaska pass( 4950m) - Sisaypampa ( 4200m)Today we have to walk up on a very steep route beside the mount Salkantay,. Seven zig zag is neccesary to do to arrive the pass, the way is clear and save, the trail offer beautiful landscapes. Continuing the trail we'll descend to the valley untill arrive to Challhuay this is a flat and nice place for camping. It is the hardest day in the trail.(B.L.D.) DAY 3: Sisaypampa – Huayllabamba( 2950m) - ( 5 hours walking )Following the trek we continue walk down along steep route passing for a impòrtant arqueological places lake Paucarcancha and Inkarajay.... we will arrive to Huayllabamba early . affter lunch we will continue to Llulluchapampa located before the warmihuañusca pass ( B.L.D) DAY 4: Huayllabamba - Cusco (3400m) - (5 hours walking - 3 hours driving)Today we will be wajking in the inca trail in outposit direction we will pas for a important arqueological inka places like Patallacta ........ we will continue to Piscacucho in the Vilcanota valley. after arrive to km 82 and take a lunch we will return to Cusco concluding the trek.
