Ausangate Trek (6D / 5N)

One of the more well-known treks of Cusco. The Ausangate pick (6372m), another sacred mountain (Apu) of the Incas, is now visited by thousands of tourists. The trek, developed over 6 days. During this journey, you will encounter, the snow-capped peaks of Mariposa, Pico tres, Pucapunta, Campa and many more. Many of these glaciers, which are more than 6000 meters above sea level, are seldom frequented by climbers. This trek is above the 4000 meter mark during the entire journey with its maximum pass at 5200 meters in the Palomani pass.

ITINERARY

The itinerary is as follows:

DAY 1: Cusco - Tinki (3950m)

Pick up in your hostal and driving 5 hours on the route to the jungle Puerto Maldonado..in the way we stop in Tinky on 3950m where we spend our first night. Tinky is a small and quiet town locate near the Vilcanota range, you will enjoy the impresive view of Ausangate mountain and also magic mountaineering landscapes from here we begin the trek around Ausangate mountain.( L. DAY 2: Tinki - Upis( 4200m) (6 hours walking)

In the morning after a delicious breakfast we will prepare to start our trek, you should bring a small pack day bag, the rest of the staff will be carry by annimals like horses and llamas. In our first day the slope is not very steep, we will arrive to our campsite called Upis in front of the south west face of the Ausangate mountain .. hot springs are waiting for us (B.L.D)

DAY 3: Upis - Arapa Pass( 4650m) - Huchuypucacocha( 4450m) (5 hours walking )

Following the trek we will walk for three more hours to Arapa pass from there we will see the another face of Ausangate mountain and some beautiful lakes . We descend during two hours to our campsite located on the border of nice lake called Huchuypucacocha.(B.L.D)

DAY 4: Huchuypucacocha - Palomani Pass( 5200m) - Hatunpampa (4600m) - (7 hours walking)

Today is the hardest day because we will cross two high passes the first one over 5000 m and the second one called Palomani on 5200 m. Since there we will see the beautiful turquose lake called Ausangatecocha also we will see the Ausangate and Mariposa mountains. few minutes on the pass will be enought for some pictures, after that we will go to Hatunpampa where we will install our campsite.(B.L.D)

DAY 5: Hatun Pampa - Jampa Pass (5000m) - Ninaparayoc ( 4600m) (7 hours walking)

We'll begin the morning because we will have a long day. In the valley we will see the impresive mountains called Pico Tres and Pucapunta, our highest pass on the 5000 m. called Jampa pass. After we .continue to the Pacchanta valley, we will see the Comercocha and Ninaparayoc lake we will camping on the border of the Ninaoparayoc lake. (B.L.D)

DAY 6: Ninaparayoc - Pacchanta (4500m) - Tinky - Cusco (6 hours walking )

Our last day begin early in the morning, we continue in the Pacchanta valley arriving in 4 hours approximately there we will have a typical food named Pachamanca, vegetables and Alpaca meat are cooked in a stone oven...also you should take a bath in a nature pool of thermal water..After lunch we will walk two more hours until arrive to Tinky where our car will be waiting for us.(B.L)
